Velo Baltica through Jarosławiec — stages, maps, rest stops 2026

Velo Baltica is Poland's flagship coastal cycling route — over 400 km from the German border to the Russian Kaliningrad oblast border. Jarosławiec sits in the middle, making it a perfect base for day trips or a stopover on longer journeys.

Why Jarosławiec is a great cycling base

Day trips from Jarosławiec

East: Jarosławiec → Rusinowo → Łazy (20 km one way)

Easy mostly-flat route along the coast. Highlights: Rusinowo amber beach, cliff sections with sea views, the quiet village of Łazy. Total: ~40 km return.

West: Jarosławiec → Darłowo (30 km one way)

Darłowo has a medieval castle, the Drawsko Lake, and a working fishing port at Darłówko. Longer ride (60 km return) but worth it. Train option available if you tire out.

Inland loop: Jarosławiec → Postomino → Wicko Lake (25 km)

Mostly through pine forest and small villages. Less coastal but offers different landscape and quiet.

Bike rentals in Jarosławiec

Several rentals operate on the promenade in season (May-September):

• City bikes: 30-50 PLN/day
• Mountain/trekking bikes: 50-80 PLN/day
• Electric bikes (recommended for longer trips): 100-150 PLN/day
• Kids bikes and child seats available

Most rentals accept ID as deposit. Helmet usually included.

• Water: Refilling possible at every village. Carry 1-1.5 L minimum on hot days
• Trains: Local trains accept bikes; useful if you tire out far from base
